Planning a gap break? If you’re a beach lover, take heart, many gap travelers head to beaches near and far.
A gap beach break could be a couple of weeks, a month or a full year to the world’s best beach destinations.
After the popular Leonardo DiCaprio film was released in 2000, gap year travelers have searched to find the perfect beach, says travel company Real Gap Experience.
Real Gap Experience have found the top five beach destinations chosen by 500 gap travelers.
Here are the Top 5 Beaches For Gappers:
1. Thailand – Koh Samet: “A little island just a few hours from Bangkok, it has beautiful beaches, especially in the northeast of the island.”
2. Fiji – Coral Coast: “An 80km stretch of coastline, it is dotted with beaches, bays, rocky outcrops, mangrove forests, lush vegetation and Fijian villages.”
3. Australia – Bondi Beach: “With consistent rolling waves, it’s the perfect place to learn or perfect surfing skills whilst surrounded by the pros.”
4. and 5. Panama – Beaches of Bocas del Toro: “Paddle across the Caribbean Sea to one of Panama’s many islands (with its) powdery white sands lapped by warm tropical waters and shaded by billowing palm trees.”
Mozambique – Tofo Bay: “On the southern coast of Mozambique lies Tofo Bay, a white sand beach, a surfer’s paradise, with crashing waves.”
