Golden Backpack Awards

The Golden Backpack Awards in the UK will celebrate the best in adventure travel, transport and tours.

Coming to London, October 12, 2011 the UK version of the awards will take place at Shaka Zulu.  The inaugural awards will recognize outstanding tour operators, airlines, accommodation and transport providers in the adventure and youth travel market.

The nominees are 35+ companies including British Airways, Contiki, Intrepid Travel, Thomas Cook and niche companies and newcomers such as Wicked Campers and Balkan Road Trip.

TNT magazine readers will judge the 19 award categories ranging from Best Tour Operator and Best Tour Itinerary to Best Festival Tour Operator.

Lonely Planet’s Tom Hall, author of Best Ever Travel Tips, will present the awards.

Tickets for the TNT Travel Awards are £100 each or £900 plus VAT for a table of 10.  The event will include an arrival drink and canapés, a three-course meal (and half a bottle of wine per person), the awards presentation and a disco for dancing.
