Fancy a storm watching holiday in the UK? The Lugger Hotel in Portloe, Cornwall is honoring the ‘Great British Weather’ this fall with their two-night Storm Watching package.
The Lugger Hotel is surrounded by windswept cliffs and Cornish headlands and overlooks the wild, unspoiled ocean from its vantage point at the heart of the fishing village of Portloe. Dating back to the 17th century, The Lugger is a former inn with 22 bedrooms with views across the cove and a two AA Rosette restaurant. With no street lights and light pollution, the hotel is considered one of the best spots for seeing a pure dark sky and star gazing.
In its Storm Watching package, the hotel will provide macs, brollies and wellies for watching the stormy skies and waves crashing on the beach. Afterwards, The Lugger Hotel will have hot toddy and buttered crumpets at the ready in the front of the open fire back at the hotel.
The hotel’s Chef Jonathan Done and his team will prepare dinners inspired by the Cornwall coastline including rock samphire, nettles and wild garlic and fish from the sea in front of the hotel and coastal ports.
Storm Watching Packages (£318) for 2 people for 2 nights, Sunday to Thursday include a classic double room; full Cornish breakfast; dinner on both evenings and winter cream tea with whisky Madeira cake and hot buttered crumpets.
