Want to inspire your next family camping adventure?  If your family travels in the United States, look at this charming Discover The Forest video designed to “instill a lifelong love for nature in children.”

The USDA Forest Service and the Ad Council have joined creative forces with Universal Pictures on this public service announcement (PSA) featuring Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, from the upcoming 3D-CG feature.

The Lorax is a symbol of forest conservation which encourages children to “explore and enjoy nature everywhere and become lifelong stewards of the forest and its beauty.”

More than 245 million Americans live within 100 miles from a National Forest or Grassland, says the U.S. Forest Service.

According to the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, American children spend fifty percent less time outdoors than 20 years ago.

The latest research shows when children play outside, they have lower stress levels; active imaginations; better fitness and stronger immune systems. In their futures, they’re also more likely to become environmentally conscious.
