Vonage has launched a global pay-per-call international app for iPhone with direct payment through iTunes.

The app, Time to Call, is designed to allow consumers to make 15-minute international calls to 190+ countries at a reduced cost of major mobile carriers with payment through iTunes.

These days, more and more mobile users are making international calls from their device.

Research by TeleGeography shows nearly 50 percent of all international calls worldwide now originate from a mobile phone.

To make international calls, iPhone users first download the Time to Call app.

Then they select the country they’re calling, touch the Buy button and enter their iTunes credentials.  They make the call either from their address book or by directly dialing the number.

Vonage says the Time to Call service is available on Wi-Fi worldwide and on high-quality 3G wireless networks in U.S. and Canada. On 3G networks, carrier charges may apply if the user has a limited data plan.

The fifteen-minute calls to 100 countries cost $0.99 to $1.99.  Some 90+ additional countries can also be called for flat rates up to $9.99.

Vonage says calls to landlines and mobile phones are the same rate.

Later in 2011, Vonage plans to launch an Android version of the Time to Call app.
