Camping or adventuring in the Canadian Rockies? Then you’ll want to know about the new Canadian Mountain Parks Companion -Banff Edition iPhone App.

The new app will feature augmented reality to identify the peaks, automatic GPS mapping, 400+ photos and interpretative information for 250+ mountains and points of interest.

“This is truly the perfect companion for anyone wishing to fully experience the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies within Banff National Park,” says Friends of Banff National Park.

Interpretive guide and author Dave Birrell and his friends, in conjunction with Friends of Banff National Park, developed this iPhone app.

If you’re living or working in the Rockies, the developers will be at the app’s official launch at Banff Public Library on October 29, 2010.
